CLGFS Hardship Scholarship Information Page

Being parents and volunteers helping our daughters and many other families daughters learn team work, determination and have fun making new friends playing a great sport, we also realize there are some families who financially cannot afford the fees.

We have implemented this scholarship to help those very deserving girls and their families during their difficult times.

Attached is the scholarship letter and application form. For those interested, please fill out the application completely and return it to [email protected]. If an application is returned incomplete, it will not be accepted.

All applications are reviewed by the scholarship committee and brought to the board members to vote on as a whole. All information will be kept strictly confidential. If any further information is required, or questions are asked, we will email asking for those specifics. Those who are approved, will be notified by the admin email advising them of the percentage agreed upon.

Dear CLGFS Family,

Welcome to the Crystal Lake Girls Fastpitch Softball League.

Thank you for your interest in our scholarship program. The program was created to help families who are experiencing financial hardships and would like to give their daughter the opportunity to participate in youth sports that she may otherwise not be able to enjoy and all the benefits the sport offers.

We understand each situation is unique, therefore we offer scholarships between 25% and 100%. Every scholarship application is carefully reviewed and decisions are based on a case by case basis. All applications are kept confidential. Factors considered are: information provided is accurate and complete, previous scholarships, income, public assistance, family size and other hardships.

We do request parents of our scholarship recipients volunteer where needed at the softball fields, in concessions, or with team or field duties. We are able to offer scholarships because of volunteers. Please help us as we help you. We are very flexible and only ask for a few hours per family.

These scholarships will only be for our Spring and Fall rec seasons. (Comets, clinics, etc. are excluded) An approved scholarship is good for the next season only. A new application is required for additional seasons.
